MEET THE TEAM UP FOR THE CHALLENGE
Meet the inspiring individuals behind the oars, each bringing their unique skills and dedication to the boat, united in the pursuit of triumph on the water.
AMY SPARKS
POOLE
Amy works as an Independent Financial Adviser, so is the perfect person to manage the budget for our Atlantic Row. When she isn’t on the water, you’ll find her exploring restaurants and cafes, as she is a bit of a food fanatic, so I wonder how she will take to those dehydrated meals. Amy has promised to try them all so if any exhibition food companies would like to join us on our journey, please get in touch. Amy is most looking forward to seeing all the wildlife at sea, although hopefully the sharks won’t get too close!
HEBE HEMMING
SOUTHAMPTON
Hebe is the person that suggested the idea of rowing the Atlantic, but it wasn’t long, roughly two youtube videos later that the team decided it was a great plan. Due to being addicted to chocolate, Hebe is working out what else she will eat to fuel herself across the Atlantic, she is also a book fanatic so either she will have some very soggy pages or she will be stealing some solar panel energy to charge her kindle. Hebe is most looking forward to the sunrises and star gazing at night.
RUBY SCHOLTEN
BARCELONA
Ruby is a nurse, sailor, triathlete and most controversially an Australian. Ruby loves an endurance sport particularly cycling for hours on end so when she saw the team needed an extra person she jumped at the chance for a new challenge and a new sport. After years of racing against Hebe and Amy in sailing she is keen to race with them and redirect her competitive energy to help the team achieve their goals.
Ruby is most excited to go for a swim in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and watch the sunrises.
TIEGAN BALL
LONDON
Tiegan is the sole experienced rower on our team, bringing invaluable expertise in generating powerful and efficient strokes. She currently works in insurance but her true passion lies in sports, evident through her dedicated volunteer work with British Rowing. Tiegan is eager to master the dynamics of wind and waves to refine her ocean rowing skills, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to giving her best in the World’s Toughest Row!
The Support Crew
As Always with these campaigns we couldn’t complete the journey without the unwavering support of our family and friends - this section is dedicated to you. Thank you!
